Since its foundation in 2009, Sadaka has organised a number of diverse campaigns to highlight the situation of the Palestinian people, whether they are in the occupied West Bank or East Jerusalem, in besieged Gaza or those who are outside their homeland as refugees. Below we have provided information on some of these campaigns. These activities aim to increase awareness among the public here in Ireland as well as urging action by the Irish Government in support of the Palestinian people.
On the 25th of May 2021, following months of work from Sadaka, Trócaire, Christian Aid, ICTU, and collaboration from both Government and Opposition, the Dáil has supported a parliamentary motion condemning the de facto annexation of Palestinian land by Israel, developed by John Brady TD, Sinn Féin.
Denouncing Israeli Apartheid
Sadaka is amongst the growing number of NGOs both domestically and internationally, defining Israel’s treatment of the Palestinian people as one of apartheid.
