Political Meetings
An important aspect of Sadaka’s work is to facilitate Palestinian voices to be heard here in Ireland and internationally, organising opportunities for representatives of the Palestinian people to access decision-makers, politicians and media outlets. Below we have a selection of the Meetings we have facilitated here in Ireland, as well as visits we have made to Palestine, to speak with people on the ground and bring back the messages they communicate to us.

Sadaka Political Meetings in Palestine
Members of the Sadaka Board travel to Palestine on an annual basis for a series of meetings with political and NGO representatives. This provides valuable two-way updates and plays an important role in Sadaka planning and agenda setting for the coming year. Some Board members also travel to Palestine to provide human rights witness cover in Palestinian villages as part of the Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme in Palestine and Israel (EAPPI).

In late 2022, Eamonn Meehan and Val Roche, on behalf of Sadaka, attended the Palestinian European Civil Society Forum which was held in Ramallah in the West Bank. Following an initial 3 days of field trips to witness specific aspects of the occupation and its relentless expansion, they attended a series of informative talks by Palestinian representatives from a variety of local NGOs. There were more than 30 European organisations also participating.
