Settlement Products
‘Settlement products’ are those produced in the illegal Israeli settlements or colonies in the West Bank (Occupied Palestinian Territories). These settlements and the settler only roads which service them and link them to the state of Israel are an essential component in the strategy of the Israeli state to transform the demographics of the West Bank – reducing the possibility of a viable Palestinian state.
Goods produced in those settlements such as potatoes, organic herbs, etc are exported via Israel and illegally labeled ‘Made in Israel’.
Sadaka (in addition to a number other organisations internationally) is working towards having these goods correctly labeled ‘settlement produce’ so consumers know they are purchasing goods produced in illegal Israeli settlements. This is a short-term objective. Our long objective is to have these goods banned in Ireland.
The Products
Gush Shalom, the Israeli peace organisation has produced a list of all goods and produce of Israeli settlements. Click here for the most updated list of settlement products.
