Al Liqa Newsletter

"Palestine: A Christian Response to Occupation"
Factual information on the demise of the Christian population in Palestine and responses of the Christian churches to the Occupation of Palestine. In particular, it presents key points of 'Palestine Kairos', a paper produced by Christian leaders in Palestine in December 2009 which describes the military occupation as a ‘sin against God and humanity’ and further calls for an international system of economic sanctions and boycott to be applied against Israel.

This UN report examines how Israeli measures, such as the Barrier, settlements and closures have impacted Palestinian livelihoods, development and residential expansion in the Bethlehem governorate. Only 13% of Bethlehem land is available for Palestinian use out of 660 sq. kilometres and much of it is fragmented.

"Mamilla Cemetery"
Campaign to preserve Mamilla Cemetery Jerusalem. The Mamilla cemetery has been a Muslim burial ground since the 7th century, when companions of the Prophet Muhammad were reputedly buried there. Before that, it was the site of a Byzantine church and cemetery. Currently Israeli state authorities have allowed this burial ground to be desecrated, unearthing the dead to build a "Museum of Tolerance"?
