The Church and the Sadaka Campaign
There has been considerable progress in the stance of many Christian churches in recent times towards the cause of the Palestinian people.
Sadaka, in seeking to educate and raise the consciousness of the Irish people to the historical and contemporary aspects of the Israeli Occupation of Palestine and the denial of rights to the Palestinian people, Muslim and Christian alike, realises the vital role that faith based communities can play in bringing an end to injustice.
Churches are direct stakeholders in the issues surrounding the plight of all Palestinian people and of the Christian presence in particular. For this reason, Sadaka has a particular focus on work with churches.
In Autumn 2010, this will be marked by the Irish premiere of the film ‘With God on Our Side’,

a new production which challenges the ethos of Christian Zionism. This will be followed in late November 2010 by a speaking tour of senior church leaders from Palestine. When all details are confirmed they will be posted on the Sadaka Home page – so please check it out over the coming weeks.
These church pages on the Sadaka website are intended as a comprehensive resource to the position of the Christian churches on the Occupation of Palestine. They contain numerous papers, publications and videos which encompass a variety of information, ranging from the effects of the Occupation on the Palestinian Christian population, to Israeli restrictions and policies during Holy Week, to a virtual tour of holy sites in Jerusalem including the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and the Al Aqsa Mosque.
Please take the time to read and view - there is a wealth of information!
