What We Do

Sadaka’s overall objective is to influence Irish government policy on Palestine / Israel in support of the Palestinian people. To achieve this, in addition to a high concentration of work with elected representatives, much of our work is aimed at maximising support for the cause of Palestine across all sectors of Irish society in the belief that this in turn will shape political opinion. Our work attempts to locate the cause of Palestine within mainstream opinion in Irish society moving it from what is frequently perceived as a marginal position.

We are concentrating on the production of high quality analytical and factual information on the historical and contemporary situation in Palestine, tailoring this information to suit different audiences across the spectrum of Irish society.  This information is the primary tool used by Sadaka in advocacy work with politicians, civil society organisations (trade unions, churches, academia, NGOs, etc.) and the general public.

Our media work focuses on challenging and defeating Israeli propaganda. Sakada will essentially present the facts of the historic and contemporary situation in Palestine – confident that this information is so potent – that in itself it is sufficient to change public and political opinion.

Our current priorities are political lobbying, work with the churches, development of an education pack for use in secondary schools, labeling of settlement goods and work with the trade unions.

The political lobbying section of this website is not only intended to provide you with information on our work but to provide information on the political environment in Ireland.  It provides statements by politicians, political party positions, transcripts of Dáil and Seanad (Parliament) discussions and European positions. This information is intended to aid lobbying efforts from elsewhere, including directly from Palestine.
