About Sadaka - Our Principles

Friendship in the face of oppression

Sadaka applies the following guiding principles in all its work. Sadaka will

  • Maintain an independent position on internal politics and divisions within Palestine;
  • Have a neutral position on the political outcome for the people of the region and favours a peaceful negotiated settlement based on principles of democracy and justice;
  • Be non-party political and non denominational;
  • Only adopt policy and political positions consistent with the organisation’s mission statement;
  • Be broadly based and strive to be inclusive of all sections of Irish society;
  • Have a well functioning, united national leadership;
  • Use accumulated international law, including the 4th Geneva Convention, UN resolutions and other international treaties and judgements such as the ICJ ruling on the Wall to provide a rationale for its political positions.
