About Sadaka - Our Political Objectives

The work of Sadaka will focus on the achievement of the following political objectives:

General

  • An end to the Occupation and colonisation of Palestine;
  • The creation of a contiguous Palestinian state (with no reference to particular borders);
  • The right of return of all Palestinian refugees and a guarantee of their human rights in whatever country they now live;
  • Palestinian people in both the Gaza and the West Bank to have absolute freedom of movement;
  • Abolition of existing settlements and withdrawal of settlers from the West Bank, an immediate end to settlement construction;
  • The release of all political prisoners and in particular ministers and other elected representatives.

Irish Government, EU and the UN

  • The Irish Government to be the lead advocate for Palestine within the EU.
  • Suspension of Israel from the Euro-Med Agreement until it complies with the human rights clause contained in the Agreement;
  • The implementation of all UN resolutions as they apply to Israel / Palestine;
  • The Irish Government to respect the democratic will of the Palestinian people; 
  • An EU arms trade embargo on Israel;
  • Cessation of all Government trading contracts with Israel;

Gaza

  • Immediate implementation of the Agreement on Movement and Access;
  • An immediate end to the siege of Gaza;
  • Reference of the situation in Gaza by the Security Council to the International Criminal Court.
